The Haggadah says that the Egyptians worked the Israelites with back-breaking labor. Today people are still forced to work at dangerous jobs with inadequate safety. This page asks what level of danger and hardship workers can be asked to accept, and whether this should be the same for everyone or if workers in countries with lesser opportunity or lesser standards of safety should be able to accept more hardship and risks if they believe that is in their interests to make a living.
